5 Reviews for Parrot Rhythm and Blue - In Car CD Stereo With Bluetooth
Fantastic with limitations - 25 Feb 2008

Parrot website has an extensive forum for comments on the Rhythm & Blue (R&B). Facts that should be borne in mind when buying this phone.
1.It does not support bluetooth stereo (A2DP) hence do not buy if you want stereo sound from any phone sporting bluetooth stereo.
2. The firmware has not been updated in over 12 months. This means that newer phones may not pair with the headset or may have limited functionality. Check the parrot.biz website for compatible phones.
3. The length of time since the last firmware update suggests Parrot are not inclined to keep the headset up to date.
4. A number of little bugs - sometimes fails to turn off even when engine is turned off. The wiring is backwards if fitted as per fitting instructions (see other review). Sometimes fails to pair with phone (need to turn off and on again). Sometimes you get full functionality except screen fails to show text and icons (bright blank screen). Slight high pitch noise (poor connection on power leads).
5. No Auxillary input hence cant use to connect to ipod or other mp3 players.
Having said all of the above I highly recommend the R&B. It drops a star for the above however it works very well with my Nokia e61 and my wife's motorola v3. It automatically pairs with your phone if you leave bluetooth on on your phone. The useability is excellent.
ITS OK, BUT NOTHING SPECIAL - 02 Sep 2007

I BOUGHT THIS OFF AMAZON FOR £165. 6 WEEKS LATER AND I AM ASKING TO RETURN IT DUE TO IT GOING A KNACKER. IT TAKES A WHILE TO CONNECT TO YOUR PHONE, BUT AS I SAID I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AND IT LOST POWER AFTER A MONTH. AFTER GETTING THE POWER BACK IT LOST THE MEMORY (RETUNING THE RADIO EVERY TIME I GET IN THE CAR) AND THE DISPLAY. MY MATE RECOMMENDED THESE AS HE HAS ONE, BUT I DONT REALLY RATE THEM AT ALL. I AM GOING FOR A KENWOOD OR SONY NEXT TIME!!

If you are looking for a stereo to fit which will connect with your phone save yourself the time and just buy this one. A superb rpoduct which I fitted myself in a couple of hours including pairing and synchronizing. I fitted it with a Halfords wire connector which cost under £14.00 and meant I had no wires to cut or join. It then took a short time to pair and transfer the phone book and now I can use the phone without fear of getting in the pooh with the law. The sound on it is so good good that I can use it in a soft top MX5 with the roof down without any problem up to legal road speeds. So good that I am now going to buy another for my car ( this was fitted to my wifes car). Sound on the stereo is excellent and the MP3 playback is perfect. RDS works as it should. Save yourself a £60 ticket and 3 points for using your mobile and get one now you won't regret it.
Well Done Parrot! - 22 Jan 2007

I've had this head set for over a year now, and I have to say it's awesome! It's a brilliant solution to the ban of driving whilst on your mobile phone over here in the UK. It may primarily be a hands-free device, but the MP3/CD player side of things is brilliant too, the easy search menu's for MP3 Cd's makes finding your favourite songs so simple. You can either alphabetically search for your artist/song, or manually scroll through the folders on the CD.
I'd definately recommend it to anyone considering buying it. Once you first pair your phone to the headset, everytime you get in the car from then onwards, it automatically connects to your phone and synchronises your phone book. So when your phone rings, not only do you see on the display who is calling you, your ring tone also plays through your speakers! It's brilliant, and I couldn't live without it now I've got it. Only problem is you do look like you're talking to yourself! But atleast then other drivers give you a wide berth. hehe.
Well done Parrot!
quirky minimalist french design, that works well - 10 Dec 2006

Straight out of the box the first thing i noticed was the solid all metal construction and lack of the usual flimsy plastic front control panel, which is heavy and metal, the unit itself is also heavy and has a large heatsink across the back panel. The instructions are minimalist and assume a degree of competance when it comes to installation, which took about 20 minutes without rushing, in a vw passat, the time being taken up in dismantling the cars central console without a manual. The installation was just a matter of lining up the relevant euro plugs, mike and aerial feeds, securing the replacement cradle in the slot and switching on. The units design is very well thought out with a huge bright blue display and rows of buttons, top and bottom, with a red and green pair above and below the volume knob for making and ending calls, via the buetooth link for your cellphone. Firmware updates from the manufacturers website are loaded via a laptop computer again with bluetooth.Telephone numbers can be accessed via the keypad on the right hand side, which also cues up cd/mp3 tracks, there are no bells and whistles, apart from voice recognition dialling and phone calls made via the remote microphone supplied, yet the money seems to have been spent on solid engineering, simple layout, and top spec sound reproduction, the 35 watt amp gives a very clear solid sound. Not a cheap item but worth the money compared to the Halfords specials which start off looking reasonable until you add on the cost of the various wiring adaptors which are costly extras and an overpriced top up .A Quality item, whose origins appear more German than French, which works well, recommended!
