The good and the bad - 11 Jan 2008

Firstly the good- easy to tune, good clear sound, plays directly from memory sticks as well as mp3 players and, in my car at least, it resumed play from where it had been previously stopped / paused (I had left it plugged into the cigarette lighter).

Now the bad- after three days it has completely and utterly stopped working! The play and stop button seem to work (since they trigger and led to flash on my memory stick) but the radio no longer picks up any signal.

I hope mine is just a one-off dodgy one as i will be buying another.

May as well throw your money away - 16 Dec 2007

I bought at £1.99 each plus a whopping £11.49 p&P both items failed to work. I could have returned them at my own expense and my £1.99 would have been refunded, but not the excessive postage...
What a wonderful business, sell defective goods but ensure your profit is safe by receiving it from postage charges!
Amazon urgently needs to investigate this one!

Nice gadget ! - 30 Jul 2007

This is a handy gadget if your car tape or cd player no longer works but you can still use the radio.

I have found the product works well and have no major complaints. I have
a rear mounted aerial on my car and still manage to get a good sound.
A previous reviewer has mentioned the hissing sound, but I found after
starting my car and removing the device from the lighter socket and then
replacing it I can get a clear sound; if I don't do this there is some
interference.

I can recommend this gadget, although I suppose the sound quality may vary on the car and the strength of local radio stations transmissions.

Poor with 3.5mm jack. - 18 Jul 2007

USB connection worked eventually, but crashed my HD player badly (Archos 202).You need the USB plugged in to change TX frequency. Sound from memory stick OK but stuck with tracks in same order all the time.

BAD!- If you are going to rely on the 3.5mm mini jack then the sound is abysmal. The left channel is weak and distorted, the right louder but no good by itself!

On a plus Tecknet gave a full refund including their high postage costs (mentioned elsewhere). They said the unit I returned performed OK when they tested it.
I have a Griffin Rocket FM at home and this comes nowhere near. I'd give it a miss, and pay a bit more. Perhaps you really do get what you pay for.

Flawed product. - 27 Jun 2007

Whilst this product does what it says on the tin. Its more important to know what it does not say.
The broadcast quality is not good. There is an inherent background hiss when using any source. From a digital source to analogue headphone out to FM transmitter to and FM receiver to your ears. Its never going to be good is it.
The biggest draw back is when using a USB stick. You can only hear the tracks in the order you transfered them. When you power down the car and start again you get to hear them all over again in the same order.

We we need is for car manufacturers to put USB connections on the dashboard.... the campaign starts here, whos with me..............
