Well this is my second 710 it has just had the same fault re-occurring, as the first. Amazon replaced in two days, a great service. This 710 is now over the thrity days and won't switch off, screen has gone blank and won't connect to the computor. Pressed the reset button, it has come back to life in the car. Same problem re-ocurrred when re-connected to the computor, Tom Tom's soft ware not detecting the unit, and the 710 goes blank. AMAZON with draw the units until Tom Tom can resolve the problem, and contacts all users with a get well solution. I live and work in Europe, tomorrow its back to having the road maps as a back up. Message for Tom Tom, come clean and fix the problem.

I've now had two Tom Tom's, which I've found to be very good to use. However, they don't last. Both failed after just over a year and so I won't be buying another.

Purchased this item only 5 months ago at first just a few minor niggles with software. Then suddenly KAPUT,DEAD,DECEASED.Returned it only to be informed any time between min,2 to 4 weeks for a responce! that was not what i needed to hear.Considering the cost of the item

I would never buy another TomTom again. If I could give it no stars, I would. Freezes, operating system failures etc. I have a bent paper clip in the car to do resets. Forget taking it back to the retailer. Those days of retailers accepting responsibility for what they sell seem to be over with electronic devices. You have to send it back to TomTom. Totally useless.

I have nothing but praise for my TomTom- I've had it just under a year and use it frequently. I've never had any problems with it and it has been a big help.
